I tried a search, found nothing. I guess it's still a pretty new item.
Anyone have experience with the Hipshot D bridge and tailpiece system?

Musiclogic said:It's a warwick/alembic type set but boxier, limited in intonation range, so stud placement is crucial, but hipshot makes some decent stuff, so it should be good quality.
Rickett Customs said:Wish they had a 5 string one available right now, i'd definitely scoff one up....
Musiclogic said:A new fad begins...LOL. A bit costly, but probably faster than ETS for delivery, and a good option for customers. Not a piece I would personally use though. I love being different...LOL
Musiclogic said:Very cool Rip, I have a few ETS units I have had for quite awhile now since Luke Sheridan turned me onto them. Do a review when you get it, would be good info for the masses.

Keep us updated. If available in a five string, this probably just jumped to the front of the line for my next bass.I might be the test monkey for a 5, just waiting to hear back from hipshot.....

When you say "solid" are you also referring to weight i.e. "high mass" bridges? Or simply the quality? Can't speak for the 5, but the 4 arrived Friday and the thing is SOLID. If they make a five, just go for it. Based on the four string model, it's awesome. I'm very impressed with everything about this bridge. Even the tailpiece, which I figured would be a separate throwaway piece, is made to the same quality as the bridge piece.
This bridge is a TOTAL win in every way, as far as I can see. Of course, I haven't installed it yet, but I don't foresee any issues.
