Bridge Suggestion

Just bought a Fender Precision Standard bass (which I love) however it came with the Badass II bridge on it. Now I have nothing against it and most people swear by these, however I have never had one on a bass before and normally just use a stock Fender bridge. It is different and is bigger, so my question is should I stick with the Badass II or switch it back to a stock Fender bridge? Looking for opinions.

If it sounds fine and allows you to adjust action and intonation adequately, then leave it alone. As the saying goes "don't mess with success".

I think the answer is:

Does the bass play ok? Then I would leave it alone.

I don't care for the look of the BA bridge, but that isn't a good enough reason to change it IMO.

Most would consider a BA an upgrade to your bass. If you prefer the bent metal original style bridge you'd have no trouble picking one up cheaply and selling the BA.I stick with the BA for now if you find for some reason you don't like it it's only a few screws and it's off.

I agree with Pudge. If you decide it's not for you, you'll easily sell the BAII, pickup a replacement, and still have cash left over.

That BA may have impressed a mark on the finish that will be exposed if removed and replaced with a smaller unit. If you really want it gone, take it off first to check and then decide.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'll just leave it on it (for now) and get used to it. But yes it is simple to switch if I choose to down the road.
