Bridging amp and ohms ?

I am usually decent at this amp stuff but once in a while I get stumped.

So I have a Crown 402. per channel 4 ohm 450w, 8 ohm 300 w , bridged at 8 ohms 900 watts. No option for bridged at 4 ohm on the manual so I assume this cannot be done.

So if I take two 8 ohm cabs and run them daisy chained, this would make a 4 ohm load therefore not allowing me to bridge with this amp?

It looks like this amp is bridgeable at 4 ohms. The 4 ohm bridged power rating is not given on any of the websites selling this amp but I found the manual and power specs for you at the address above.

If you are daisy chaining 2 four ohm cabs together that does give you a 4 ohm load, which according to those specs should be just fine. It puts out 1140 watts into a 4 ohm load when bridged.

If it was an amp that couldn't bridge at 4 ohms, and if you used a Y cable to bridge the channels, and then gave it a 4 ohm total load, then you'd be in trouble. If you simply connected the daisy-chained cabs to one output of the amp, then you're not bridging anyway. Fortunately as Konodl shows with the manual, you can bridge at 4 ohms with this amp.

so you HAVE to use custom XLR Y splitter in order to bridge mono? I thought it would just use the input from Channel one

Different amps are designed with different bridging arrangements.
