BRIGHT FLATS

I like the feel of flatwounds, but the last set of roto77s I put on my jazz bass just didn't seem to mix well with the rest of the band. I had .045-.105s, they were very stiff. Want something a little brighter and less stiffness. Who has the brightest flats with lower tension and the smallest diameter available, possibly looking for something smaller than .040-.100...

i bought a set of d,addario flats chrome. I put them on a jack cassady bass. at first they sounded strange. very bright and metallic, but they are getting better. im beginning to like them. I had a set of Pyramids and they were warmer, thuddyer. The epi sounded like an upright with those.Now it sounds more like a P.

TIs can be plenty bright, and have low tension. Excellent flats - sounds superb and have an amazing feel.

I just got a set of Sadowsky flats from bassstringsonline.com. They are incredibly flexible and bright (I'm going to need to give them the BBQ sauce treatment).

I use Thomastik Infeld Jazz Flats; they sound amazing and play really nice. They also last a long time.

+1 on the D'Addario chrome flats. I find them to be a little brighter with more sustain than others, but you still get that silky feel...

New formula Fender Flats are super bright, but also tight.
