Great idea for local sales, by the way - anyone have any objections (as long as we abide by the "only supporting members" rule)? I'd rather offer gear to locals than deal with shipping. I have an OLP MM with a Nordstrand 5.4 up for grabs cheap (see my Classifieds thread) that I'd love to find a local buyer for.

I hate dealing with Vancouver's Craigslist. So many people who are clueless about anything and try to overprice their basses to other people.

I swear I saw an ad offering a standard American fender for $2000. Stock and all nothing they got rid of it though.

I love how some people take the time to post those "RE:" ads on Craigslist too, telling buyers to void certain ads or call out people on their pricing.

Agreed, our Craigslist is pretty silly, whether it's the ridiculous optimists or the insulting lowballers. I just went out and bought an item retail because the only person on Craigslist selling a used one wanted *the same as he paid new* minus taxes.

Where do you even start in explaining reality to folks like that?

I see a lot of that. They said it's mint and never played and stuff...but I mean c'mon.....

I a speaker cab have up there right now at half what a new one at L&M costs with 8 months warranty left and a custom case and all I've gotten are lowballers. You gotta have a pretty thick skin.

On a more positive note I just scored a cool as retro gets Supro Pocket Bass....not on CL.

Live and work in Burnaby. I have four basses that definitely could be of interest at a GTG:

Sadowsky NYC 24F5
Sadowsky NYC Will Lee 4
Dingwall AB-II
Rob Allen MB2 5-string (fretless).

I would be interested in any upcoming GTG options. I'll keep an eye on this thread.

Oh! Get Dave Reimer at Tom Lee to do it. He's a breath of fresh air - a real P bass lover who's set up lots of Famous Folks' axes and builds his own killer P/J axes. Totally worth it - and he's the kind of guy that fixes little things just because they bug him.
