Well, I have been itching for a 5 string and the other day I went to Guitar Center to grab some headphones for work. There was a Stealth (all flat black) 5 string Bongo on "Clearance"
I picked it up and played it. Felt solid with strong tone and felt good. (I always test basses unplugged FIRST).
I went tonight for fun to take a look at it again. This time plugged it in. Sounded really strong, felt really good, needs a set up strings are a bit high for my taste and the strings are to slinky feeling for me.
I had my 76 Jazz in the trunk that I have been looking at getting rid of. They offered me an even trade for the 76 Natural finish Jazz...
well...
I thought about it for a while...
and said no to the trade...
Put the Jazz bass back in the trunk and went back inside to get the Bongo.
It was on "Clearance" for some reason I dont know. Probably because there is a small scratch on the back of the lower horn and on the back of the bass... I dont really care about that I usually scratch my basses on my own.
Looking forward to playin around with it. Although it is an ugly lil guy, but a nice change from my all Natural Finished basses (Ken Smith BMTEG6 / BSREG6 etc...)
So welcome me to the oh much so talked about BONGO club...
