Broken Code @ The Frisco Rail Yard

Very cool gig last Saturday night! Well, everything but the temperature... It's was *98 at load in, it was brutal! We all broke the Rock n Roll rule about shorts on stage for the first time. This place is in Frisco, TX at an old train depot. It's a food truck park (6 food trucks circle the bar) bar in the center with a tiny stage. When we were setting up, the owner came over to remove the "no children on stage" sign. We made him leave it up. Hehe, got a few extra bucks in the tip jar because of it.


Load in... *98 no clouds - 5:00 pm - This is Rod, lead guitar and lead vocals. Crappy looking stage. It gets better.

"Sweet" Bob setting up. 2nd guitar and vocals.

Filled out later to about a hundred folks

Close to downbeat.

I like the view from the stage! Looks like a very laid-back type of gig... Setting up in the heat kinda blows though. Gonna be doing it myself Saturday, so I can empathize

This looks like a pretty cool party atmosphere, a laid back evening, and many fun units to be shared. Plus, I think I really like your rig! Is that an MB500 and a Neo410? You guys seem to have a dialed-in stage setup. I'll bet you've been doing this for a while.

Hmm, I wonder if my bands would get more tips if I put a "No Children On Stage" sign up?

I remember back in the 70's when Frisco Tx was a small cow town with just a grain elevator and that's it! It has grown!

... mixed signals, though... I can see why the owner wanted to remove the 'No children on stage!' sign, as it conflicts with the "KidStrong' sign in the background... no wonder they're so confused, these days... and here we were blaming cellphones... .

Looks to me like you broke some rules on the gig.
You posted o children on stage and I counted 4, at least children at heart.
Shorts on stage, isn't that an agreed no no on TB? But believe me i completely understand veteran of many a Texas outdoor gig.

Also keeps down any boomyness from being on a raised stage. And gets it a little closer to ear level for better monitoring.

Thanks so much! That's a MB800 with a NEO212. Luv it! Yes sir, we just celebrated our 15 yr, so we got stage setup as you say "dialed in". I own a sign shop so I am defiantly making that sign!

Yep, back then 121 and Preston were 2 lane blacktop roads.
