Double Bass broken heel

Player with opinion and busted bass experience (cat, barfight, snow).Don't be embarrassed; luthiers are well aware that accidents happen, especially with basses. Save up and get it done right. IMO, of course.

Whoa! No epoxy! That stuff is rock hard, and if the crack wants to open up later, then it is the wood that will fail rather than the glue. It's also difficult to remove.

Take it to a luthier, see if you can get a free estimate. If you can't afford the repair, get advice on how to do it yourself. A good luthier would rather not see a bass ruined.
