Double Bass broken tuner

It is an epoxy formulated for metals. A last ditch maneuver...I would not recommend it.
You have had some good advice-- The silver-solder is least likely to damage the tuner, and is very strong. Any good jewler should be able to handle that for you. Most metal fabrication shops could do it, but the Jeweler understands working with small fragile pieces that are not easy to replace.
I have done this sort of thing, and would be comfortable repairing such a thing, but I would not recommend it as a "first project" if you have never used the process.

Wow, thanks for the replies and yes, there have been indeed some great options thrown out there. Looks like I'm going to have to take the tuners off not matter what I do. I've done basic wire soldering but nothing with a small torch. I watched some videos on youtube and it doesn't look too difficult but I'd rather take it to someone who knows how to do it. $25 is no big deal.
Next thing is to get something to protect the tuners when they're in the case. I saw a posting that someone made something out of styrofoam. Maybe a small pillow or something.
