Honestly, same. I’m going to do my best to get one, but I’m still very happy with my Octabvre MkIII and SVD. The product description says that the Subsonic tracking is similar to the OC2, and I assume that means warts and all. Some people like the way the OC2 glitches, but I prefer less glitchy, better tracking octaves.

I do kinda regret giving up my chance to buy a Broughctave, but at the time I preferred the Octabvre in a side-by-side taste test and there’s no going back now. C’est la vie.

From what I remember of when I used my OC-2, I didn't mind the tracking. If it gets the tone down, though, I'd be totally happy. Most of the clones a lot of the way there, but there's often just something missing. I'll be interested to try the Subsonic.

I've been somewhat preparing to embark on a soul quest of octavers. Currently, I own an Octabvre MkIII and the Synth Voice Deluxe. They both are useful for their own reasons, but I've voiced my thoughts between the two. I've previously owned various Octabvre versions, but I'm unlikely to be able to get any of those again. I also had an Octamizer, which was nice, but I got rid of it after getting my first Octabvre. I also own a 1986 OC-2... but it needs some work done on it, as it has a very narrow headroom which makes it useless. It's what I used back when I was first starting out.

Currently, I have my eyes on the MXR BOD, the Mantic Hulk, and the EBS Octabass. Maybe the new version of the Octamizer, too. Also interested in the Foxrox stuff. Really, I'm just looking to try different flavors and see what sticks.

I have only good things to say about the MXR BOD. Definitely try it out.
If my board got stolen and I had to put a new one together for tomorrow with non-boutique "off the shelf" stuff, that would be my octave choice.

The strange thing about it for me is this: I've never found the sounds very compelling... until I heard someone try the Growl and Girth voices on their own. I don't know why, but in demos, it just sounds better to me when they're not mixed. It might be the sort of thing I need to play around with on my own, but when I recognized that this was true, I was surprised.

I second this 1st Octave pedal I owned was the MXR BOD it's not on my board now but I'm never getting rid of it.
There's a certain vibe it has all its own I really like, so much so I 'll be trying out other Octave pedals just to see what they can do. I think Octave pedals are my favorite at this point in time. But I'm certain that will change over time maybe.

I have MXR BOD, Gojira FX Octave Generator.
Short list of ones I want to try next FKT Audio Octavarium, MXR Vintage, OC-5, eventually Broughton.

BTW a TBer posted videos of a Marcus Miller show he went too over the weekend and Marcus had MXR BOD on his board.

I admit I love what the MXR BOD does as well. Doesn’t track as low as the SV but it’s very forgiving.

i sold my Boss oc2 here in TB for $80 bec i was able to get a mkiii. im just glad that i was able to find the oc2 a home and not take advantage of my brothers in tb. hopefully ill get a subsonic so i can pass the mkiii to my son, if not then ill be happy for those who are able to get it.

Quick question concerning the Messenger: In my home setup, I use an Origin BassRig last in my chain and I'm very happy with the sound. I've been running it into my recording setup, and using headphones. However, I'm taking a break from recording and just need a headphone practice rig, so I'm taking the computer out of the equation. Only problem is the Origin doesn't have a headphone out. I have a Messenger, and I figure I'll use it as a headphone amp. Here's the thing - I just want it to be a simple headphone amp. I know I can set the EQ at noon to make it flat, but the HPF and LPF still confuse me. Where can I set those knobs in order to achieve a flat signal with no coloration? Any help would be much appreciated.
