i have I Brubaker Brute MJX that I’ve just converted to a JJX. The pickups I have are a Bartolini 59j deep split at the neck, and a Bartolini 59j Classic Bright at the bridge. Not out of phase, completely silent being that the pickups are hum cancelling. Just one problem—when I strike the B string with my thumb, it sounds honky and bottomless. Also the overall tone is P-bass in nature. My MJX never sounded like this!
