Ordered a Bruce Thomas Profile Bass from basscentre.com. $663 from London to my doorstep. (Don’t ask about the route UPS sent this poor thing on, which BassCentre had nothing to do with.) Changed the strings to Kalium balanced tension hybrids (original strings were way too zingy for me), and put a Tusc nut on it. Took it to a fusion session this afternoon and it said, Hello, I’m a P-bass, I’ve already found my place in the mix. Light (8.2 lbs.). Ebony fingerboard. 1.625” nut (which is the happy zone for me). Great build quality (tight neck pocket, for example). A P-bass on steroids, with the almost 3D pickup in this thing. Even the gig bag is pretty good. Great build quality. Get one. Trust me.

Nope. It’s basswood, maple and ebony wood-wise - no rosewood or anything else problematic.
I should add that this thing absolutely vibrates when you hit a note. “It’s alive ....”
If I don’t travel for work tomorrow (and I don’t think I will) I might could lay down a little Bernadette (Four Tops) or Pump It Up (Elvis Costello) to an audio file.

OK, I recorded some audio of this sucker playing two chunks of bass fame: Bernadette (Four Tops), played by James Jamerson, and Pump It Up (Elvis Costello), played by Bruce Thomas.
Each using a Puma 1000 as a DI with a little compression and next to no EQ. One version just with the audio, and a second with amp simulation for each: an Ampeg B-15 sim for Bernadette and a SVT for Pump It Up.

I saw EC Friday Night! Davey Faragher is good, but by no means is he Bruce. Nevertheless, post something man. I am considering getting one!
Sounds to me like it's built in S Korea mostly. Neck and body at least.

Heard nothing but great things out of it, but the B word always scares me. Am not generally a fan of basses with basswood bodies, though I must say the clips sounded excellent.
