Does anybody know of this french bassist? I found a few reviews but nothing substantial but he seems to bed in the avant-garde camp which is why Im interested!

Double Bass Bruno Chevillon

He is a great musician. I recommend his work with Louis Sclavis. The Sclavis Acoustic quartet on ECM is nice. Its a nice cross between jazz and classical. He is a great bassist and has great arco skills. He even sings on an album I have! I cant remember the album. Its a French saxophonist, pianist (maybe Stephan Oliva) and Chevillon. With or with out Chevillon, I recomend Sclavis' work.
