Just came back from The Aristocrats Show at Douglas Corner in Nashville. Yeesh! That was some of the most impossible Music I've ever heard flawlessly executed with great humor besides. I am not used to a blase' crowd of Nashville Musos whoopin' and hollerin' for encores, but they did! You need to see this band if at all possible! Guthrie, Bryan and Marco definitely have game-at times I was cracking up because it was so absurdly tight! See these guys!

This is from a while back, they're incredibly tight now as Marco and Bryan just got back from 3 months with Joe Satriani:

Big fan here - Sweaty Knockers is a favourite :bassist:

I'm not anticipating I'll see them in Australia anytime soon though...

Saw them last year, just great. Marco's parents were in the audience, in San Francisco. Missed them Feb. 1 to see The Who. I hope they return on the next leg of the tour.

Whoa... I may have just besmirched myself.

Love how Bryan can simultaneously think waaaaay across the barline and yet still be locked into the pocket like a stone cold funkmeister.

Plus he gets points in my book for reading on that gig.

  6. Just got my tix to see them at the Saxon Pub in Austin 8/25!!

Don't tell me he read all that nutty rhythm stuff.

Just when I couldn't be more impressed...

They are going to be in Jacksonville FL this Sunday (7/21/2013) at 1904 Music Hall.
There is a post in Craigslist Community Musicians with more details.

    I'm looking forward to it.

I wish that just by seeing a great bassist some of it would rub off on me :)

In fairness, it doesn't look like he's sight-reading on the gig with his face buried in the chart; he's got a music stand off to the side, and he appears to be checking it periodically, perhaps as reminders to overall form, or perhaps some particularly thorny passages.

Anyone have the new album Culture Clash yet? I preordered it and it's kicking me in the face. This is easily one of my favorite bands in recent years. Bryan's been a personal hero of mine all the way back to the Z & Keneally days. Super nice guy as well - got to meet him at a house concert he did with his wife Kira back in February. It took everything I had to not be a drooling fan boy.

Bryan is for sure one of my personal top bassists. I've been lucky enough to host him and his wife for a couple of house concerts, he's a really great guy too. Going to see him again on August 15th!

If you don't like this band and Beller you are just wrong! GREAT BAND!!!

  15. Yeah, they're super-sick. They kicked some major booty here in Indianapolis on the 13th.

And they all signed a chick's boobs. A first for the band, it seemed. The guys were all rather mirthful over it.

Funny you mention that - I was literally just reading about that on FB. Marco posted a pic of it a couple days ago and another one today of a different girl. Apparently there's been a rash of boob-signings since his initial post. Damn - tough day at the office, eh?

  17. Culture Clash is amazing. So is the linked youtube video.

Why must I live in Canada?!

Alternatively: ... Bryan? Are you out there? Please come and play Canada?

Boob signing. I'd pay to have that job. Saw the photos on FB too.
