I was e-mailing PJ about some other matters (i.e. the Spector NS2-JCR I'm after...) and I asked him about it. He confirmed the existance of two such prototypes, one of which is indeed staying in Stuart's possession!
To quote PJ briefly: yes the description on that ebay bass is correct, one of two samples from over one year ago. that bass is a little heavy of course! I dont recall if the stock pickups were DiMarzio or not, they could have been
