Bugera bv1001t - Using DI only

Hello Im new to amp head and was, wondering about this head and wanted to see if I could find a more direct answer.

So I was wondering about the post and pre eq.

I had a little dabble with a direct line out to the Mixer and was wondering why I can't dial in my tone, moving the knobs doesnt make a difference at all...Do I require a speaker load to get the tone dials to work?

As well as this are these amps safe to DI without a speaker load?

Any information would be great thanks.

It's a solid state amp and can operate just fine without a speaker load.

The DI has a switch to set it to either pre-EQ (moving the knobs has no influence on the DI tone) or post-EQ (tone knobs should color DI signal). I've no idea why you don't hear any difference if you set it to post-EQ.

I think the problem is when I set it to post EQ the sound literally cuts out (literally no sound if I switchto it ) so I assumed I needed a speaker load to be able to push the post EQ.
