Build with NO finish?

Rick, Dismal Ax has been building this style for a number of years. Take a look at the finishes he uses since they are minimal yet allow for some degree of durability. Right now the Dismal site is down but Rebel lists the ones they've sold with specs. I landed up with the Barnstormer shown here.

I've seen the Dismal Axe stuff. Partly responsible for the influence here.

My last two builds I was so careful with them and they were high gloss. I just want something I can beat around without fear of scratches.

I've decided against the pine core. I'll probably hit the lumberyard this weekend and grab a slab of mahogany.

Wow. Very interesting.

We use only a very, very light satin finish on the PiccoBass.
You can barely tell it's there. Love it that way.

That body looks really interesting.
