The first thing you should check is that the metal inside the connectors isn't pushed into the connector housing. The connector may look normal, but of you look closely at the end where the cable enter the connector housing you will see the wire clamp sticking out slightly if the contact point have come loose.

I'll try to do this, although I don't really know what the connector and connector housings are. I feel like I should be able to tell when I look though.

It was the wires going from the master tone to the jack. I moved it around so it's not sticking up so much and taped it to the bottom of the cavity and it seems to work fine now.

I know this is old stuff I just discover now, but it is still amazing .
