Building synth patches in the Line 6 Helix LT

Hello all,

I come from a dubstep / drum'n'bass background, I'm not a keyboard player and am constantly on the hunt to get interesting dance music grade synth bass tones out of my bass guitar. I've having good success so far with My OC2, Stomplab 2b and wah and fuzz pedals,

I've also had my eye on the Source Audio C4 for a while and it is top of my shopping list due the power and flexibility of the synth engine.

However I'm also wondering if the Helix could be a good option that also comes with amp modelling and lots of effects and chaining and routing options. I don't own a bass combo, I track straight into my Apollo interface so having the cabs and heads on offer would be nice for production and to then DI into a stage PA and get consistent sound also appeals.

I'm wondering how flexible the Helix is when it comes to building synth patches (can only find one vid showing this on Youtube) and if there are multiple synth upgrade patches available in addition to the 7 or so built in?

Would be keen to get input from anyone who uses it for these sorts of sounds.

I am interested also. After selling my pedalboard, I use much simpler Boss GT-1B for synth sounds in a same way. Biggest downside is octaver, digital just doesn't sound like analogue OC-2. Maybe Helix does that better.
P.S. I just noticed this is on DB forum. I never used effects on my DB...
