Burning Smell?

I recently bought a Trace Elliot "stack" from the local guitar center which consists of a 500W Amp, 2x10 400W cab, and a 15 300W cab. I've only used it a couple times at practice and two shows and can smell something burning or hot coming from the bottom of the top cab where air is forced out. The back panel where the cab is linked to the head gets hot as well? but the panel on the bottom cab stays cool. Any idea on what this might be? Thanks in advance.

Also forgot to mention i am using speaker cable for the connections.

1. Whenever you smell something burning, it's likely that something is in fact burning, or at least getting hotter than it ought to be. Email Trace Elliot's customer support or take the cab in question back to Guitar Center for a replacement.
2. Use Speakon cables.
