Buyer's Guides?

As far as basses go I would like to see something about resale values such as Fender vs. Ibanez or Alembic vs. Dingwall etc.
I would love to have something like a fatigue factor rated like how it feels to hold a 11lb Peavey bass for an hour. Don't know how you would do it, but it would be cool. Also mp3 clips of different basses on your website.Thanks.
Mike

Thanks everyone for all the great suggestions. I've copied them into a word doc and will keep them for reference material as we get started on this formidable task.

Truth be told, buyer's guides are a big pain in the butt and that's why most of them suck. It's a lot of extra work on top of an already busy schedule. So there is agreat temptation to just sling a little hash and be done with it.

We at BG however have an uphill battle, and something to prove I guess, so we are going to attempt to do something better.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Ed. Xavier here... last I spoke with you, Laurence Mollerup and I were getting all set to have you play at the Jazz Bistro I was running in Vancouver as part of the Van. Bass Conference a few years back - too bad about the border snafu. I didn't know you lurked around here. Anyhow, I think that the Buyers Guide will be a great hit and look forward to the finished product. No doubt you and your cronies will do a great job. Best of luck with the project.

Hey Xavier! Yeah, I felt bad about that scene trying to get to Canada. They TOLD me I didn't need a passport, but in the post 9-11 world, rules about crossing borders change, and they don't bother to tell anyone.

Anyway, thanks for the reply. We'll be starting to plan the buyer's guide in a little while, but we've had lots of great ideas come in from the forums. Hopefully, it won't suck!

A section for all new basses and bass gear would be GREAT. LOTS MORE PICTURES!!!!! with model break-downs, not just 9 pictures of J basses/w different colors, know what I mean? Better descriptions of instruments with retail and street prices. Oh, and did I mention LOTS MORE PICTURES!!! Thanks, by the way, you're instruction video on slapping is cool.:)
