stingray to me is more traditional, kinda like a fender. its been used in quite a lot of songs. i prefer the warwick for its exotic woods, the growling tone, and unlike others i happen to find the neck quite comfortable

Buying a new 4 string bass, Warwick or Musicman

I've owned a Warwick Corvette Standard for about 2 years now.
Concerning the neck, I really prefer it because it doesn't have the lacquer finish like most necks. This allows for a smooth and fast neck. On other lacquer finished necks, my hand gets 'stuck' for a bit if I want to slide and whatnot.
I would also agree with what others said about the sounds of musicman vs. warwick. The Musicman has that aggressive 'nitro' sound and the warwick is growly and subtler.
I would sum up the Standard corvette as a having a solid foundation of tone. I remember spending the first half of my bass career wondering why everyone else's bass sounded cooler than mine. The musicman was one of them (check out Throw Away Your Television-Red Hot Chilli Peppers) that tone is just cool. You won't find that with your Warwick.
What you will find is a all around solid sound coming from your bass. I use a Boss GEB-7 Equalizer to help make it act like other basses.
The way I see it (from my limited playtime with the Musicman) is that: if you want some exuberance, go with the Musicman. If you want a well-behaved yet energetic sound, the Warwick is ideal.
As everyone else said, both are solid, you won't be disappointed with either.
