I've been playing bass for about a year now and I'm pretty good. I like to do all kinds of rock, but I also do a lot of slap too. I'm currently playing on a Yamaha RBX170 I bought a few months ago, it has served me well, but I want to upgrade to something better. What bass do you think would be best?

Buying a new bass; need help

Depends on what you're price range is. My thoughts...
Less than $600 - check out a MIM Jazz (I prefer Basslines pickups and a Badass II bridge)
$600-$1000 - A Spector Euro bass (Euro LX, NS4CR, NS4CRFM, etc) is hard to beat
More than $1000 - Options are pretty much unlimited so good luck.
