Buying a Rick ?

Hi there,

I have the opportunity to buy a new rick for what I'd call a fair price.
I'm not sure I really "need" it but I thought that I could buy it and try it.
And I could resell it if the bass doesn't satisfy me...

What do you guys think ?

I play grunge/indie/aleternative music (think pearl jam, incubus, etc.).
I play through a markbass LMII and a ampeg 410 cab (+ VT bass pedal)

From the type of music you play, I'd say a Ric would be right up your alley. Of course, I might be a little biased...

are you putting your signal or part of it through the Recto?

A Rick would be good for the style that you are playing.

The sound is unmistakeable. You could close your eyes and tell when it's a Rick. You can't do that with a lot of the rest.

Unfortunately, my 4003 didnt have the traditional "Ric tone" that I thought all Rics had. Dont get me wrong, it still sounded good, but not what I thought I was going to get. Maybe each bass is different even from the same manufacturer and I got one without the typical mojo, I dont know...it still was a great bass though. Some Ric guys told me I should get a 4001 to get the Geddy/Squire thing going. Someday Ill get one.

And if you are getting it at a decent price like I got mine, you could even make money on it. I made almost $400 when I decided to sell mine.
