Buying a used 2001rb head on ebay, good or bad idea

I really want this head , new it's going for 1300 and used on ebay it's going for 845. Ive never bought anything used before so i don't know if it's a good or bad idea. My worries is that i order it and it arrives to me and the thing dosent work, or it's been blown or played so hard that it dosent sound at all like it's suppose to. From the pictures they look new, but i don't know. I was just wondering for the people who have boughten used heads and stuff off ebay if youve had luck with it and do you think its a good idea or not to go ahead and buy it. There 2 different offers both for 845 both GK 2001rb heads, both seller say there in perfect or excellent condition, from the pictures they look that way but ive never done this before so i need your help or opinion, thanks

Buying anything used (or new) on the internet is a gamble. Get their phone numbers and talk to them to get a feel for them. Find out their return policy if you are not 100% satisfied. Use a payment system that will allow for a refund upon dispute. If you don't want to gamble, wait for a local sale on Craig's list or the newspaper and go play it first. That saves a huge shipping charge on something like an amp anyway.
