Buying an extra cab for my Markbass CMD 102P

Currently, the LMII is powering 2x10" speakers with 300W in 8ohm. I want to add another 8ohm cab, and my conflict is this:

Do I want a 1x15 or a 4x10? I know that if I add a 4x10, the power into the 4x10 will be equal(?) to the power into the 2x10, therefor, each speaker in the 4x10 cab will get much less power than the speakers in the 2x10. Am I correct?

On the other hand, I'm afraid I might not have enough volume with a 1x15.


I would love to hear your thoughts.

I have the LMII and 2x10 traveler cabinet. I have tried it my setup with an added Mark Bass 1x15 and it adds a nice bottom end to the sound. You will definitely have enough power. My LMII/2x10 combination has more than enough power for the bar and festival gigs I play, which is why I have not yet plunked down the $s for the 1x15 cabinet.

Heres mine. The 2 cabs are not lacking in volume at all. Can go hella loud let me tell you. Not lacking in low end either.

jesso, that looks beautiful, but I', seriously scared I might not have enough low end. Currently, with 2x10, I certainly have no low end AT ALL when both guitars and drums are blasting away (It's usually a rock-ish style).

When I play on 1x15+1x15 (Fender Rumble 100W combo *2), there's massive low end, but with the 10's it's just lost.

I have the 15 with my cmd102p. I think it'll do you fine. I play with a loud ass drummer and it's enough. Although sometimes i wish I had 2 15's instead.

If you're going to guitar center, they'll have all the above to test out. You can always return it there within 30 days too.

I suppose theres a chance that you wont have enough low end if your playing a lot of Dub or Reggae, very bass heavy music. I had the jeff berlin which I used with the 102HF, so that was a 15 and 210s. It was bassier, no doubt, but also less focused and harder to get a good sound.
Last night I played a large function room to 200 people unsupported by P.A. Afterwards, I used the bass amp as the sub for the P.A. for the disco. The LM2 wasn't really even breaking a sweat.
If thats how good the rig is with 4 10s, I can only imagine that you would never ever ever be lacking if you bought the 410 to go with the 210.
IMO 10 inch speakers are more controlable, but what do I know.
