Buying Legacy/Lane Poor pickups

Dan,

You indicated that paid via PayPal. How was the PayPal account backed? Credit Card? Traditional bank account? Debit Card? If it was through your regular bank account or a debit card attached to the account, call your bank and ask for the department that deals with "Reg E" claims (Reg E deals with "protection of individual consumers engaging in electronic fund transfers. "). Explain the circumstance to them and see if you can submit a Reg E claim for this transaction. If it was a credit card, then call the credit card company and explain the charges.

In either case, you should be able to get a credit back to your account from the bank or credit card company for the amount of the transaction. However, if the pickups do ship and arrive, you'll be on the hook to pay the bank/CC back to avoid being involved in a fraud case.

Banks and CC companies are very limited by the government in regards to holding you accountable for stolen money (which in your case is what this amounts to). However, they are very active in chasing down those that committed the fraud since they are very attached to the money.

After that, my best guess is legal action, but someone else with more knowledge would need to chime in on that.

I hope this helps and that you can get it resolved.

Matt

On the LP facebook page it now states that Henry will be selling the p/u's on Ebay only. No results yet when I searched. I ordered a pickup and had no problem whatsoever. Henry was great with me and I honestly believe he was just overwhelmed. I the had a buddy of mine that started his own thing after working for someone with a established reputation and had a difficult start as well. Again, I do not know him but my experience was good so I am going to chalk it up to being overwhelmed...with all do respect to those waiting for p/u's.

Recent facebook update:

Appears that they are trying to do the right thing....

Legacy Pickups

Currently I am working on many well deserved complimentary orders. Also, repeat customers have taken priority over new sales. The pickups will not be available through retail anytime soon. these are handmade. I wish I could accept every order. This year hope to come close to that. ... Much more info soon.

In summery I tried to contact him in early September about buying pickups. After trying to contact him for near 2 months he finally answered my emails. Paid (in full) for an order November 1st, after two months of nothing and threatening legal action he gave me my money back around the middle of January.

So if this sounds appealing to you give it a try.:rollno::rollno:

I'd love to know too.

I was considering placing an order with them, however it doesn't seem so appealing at this point

Hey, all right?
I'm from Brazil.

I just sent a payment to Legacy Pickups at May 31 and them, talked with Henry a few times...

But my pickup does not arrived... today is August 21 and I'm starting to feel worried about it...

Can somebody help? Thanks!

Yea they definitely are back on Facebook, considering their activity.
I havent placed an order but someone at Legacy has getting back to me promptly via messaging (I was wondering their process of getting that matte finish on the pickup covers)
