Double Bass Buying my first DB

Hello,
I'm trying to buy my first DB. Looking to stay under 1500. I travel way to often and don't have a way to get anything shipped to me. Anyone know a place in the Chicago area I can physically go to and purchase? Id be willing to drive a few hours if needed.

Check with the A440 violin shop, I believe they can get you a good starter series bass, like Christopher series. They are somewhere in the Chicago area.

A440 Violin Shop are great people to deal with. Steve Reinfranck at SMR Double Basses in Evanston may have something for you, too. It's worth contacting the others listed in the old thread lorian cited.
