My two Wizzies are 4 ohms each which will present a 2 ohm load on the Clarus which is OK. I've tried them in my studio and the two sound fine. I've got a gig Monday (GKMB150S), Wednesday (single Wizzy) but next Friday I'll be using the twin Wizzies and see how they go.

Incidentally I've just been playing the Clarus through an SWR 12" bass monitor that I've agreed to sell. Sounds quite good. Decisions....decisions.

Interesting how we're starting to tailor different rigs to different gigs...I remember the old days where I had "an amp."

Last week, I used my GK MB150 for a pit gig. In a few weeks, I'll be using an electric-style rig with 410 cab, and then later that week, a Clarus/Wizzy 10 setup.

I'm imagining a day for the Wizzy 10 + 12 but don't have the setting or nerve to try that yet (I don't have the 10 + 10 option).

I am wondering if the 4 ohm GK MK150S head and the Wizzie 10 (4 ohm) would work with another 4 ohm Wizzie. Not very smart on ohms, but I bet somewhere here could easily answer this question.

Janet, the real issue is heat. Any amp has its limitations as to how much heat it can dissipate without overheating, and many amps tend to run hotter with lower impedance loads. The GK MB150 can get very hot when driving a 4-ohm load, and would no doubt overheat if it were connected to anything less than 4 ohms.

+1 For a very long time all I owned was a Ampeg B-15. Then I got a little Walter Woods MI-100-8 and tried a whole lot of different cabinets. Bag End, SWR Baby Blue, a pair of Bose 801's, Flite 2x8's.
Euphonic Audio cabinets finally gave me the sound that I knew the Woods amp could produce.

It's really been hard for me to find a rig that works really well for both instruments in different sized rooms. I liked the GK with both but it's a single channel amp, so it's not practical and it's to small for the big gigs. I always thought the GK should build a two channel amp for bass. They never did though, unless you count that 200 MK amp.

I've tried several two cabinet setups, a pair of Bose 802's, Two 2x8 Flite Sound's Two VL 108's. Two Bag End 15's. I always end up with a larger single cabinet IMHO they sound better.

Thanks, Rob. I get it. Actually, the GK head lists the appropriate configurations on the back and does not mention 2 ohm. Heat. Makes sense. So, I will not even think of trying to hook up two Wizzie 10s and look for 8 ohm cabs if I am going to consider this. Janette
