Cab decision - Schroeder or Tecamp

Hi Talkbass,


I'm in the market for a new cab and I've narrowed it down between these two, I've read lots of reviews but I'm having difficulty deciding! Unfortunately I don't have the opportunity to try these cabs in person otherwise that would be my first stop.
The cabs:

1. Schroeder 115+L
2. Tecamp s212 (or m212)

My criteria is that I want lightweight single cab solution, but which can cover a medium sized gig with no problems.
I play funk / jazz / gospel style music mostly, usually with fairly hard hitting drummers. I'm fairly flexible tone wise, I suppose I prefer a more modern sound with tight, fat bass, but I just absolutely HATE getting lost in the mix. Any recommendations?

I'm also on the lookout for a new amp, as I'm not sure my current Eden WTX-500 would go great with either of these cabs, and a couple of things have frustrated me with the head (just IMO stuff, I'm sure some people find it great).

Part of the reason I have selected these particular two is that I have the opportunity to get either of these particular cabs at a huge discount, so ignore the difference in price for this comparison.

Just in general, a 212 will be louder than a 115, so if you double up, a 2x 212 will be louder than 2x 115. Schroeder cabs can cut like a knife, but sound very mid heavy and nasally on their own. Not familiar with the TecAmp stuff.

Thanks guys. From what I gather the 15+L is a very loud cab, and a bit more balanced with low end than most other schroeder cabs.
Also you raise another point of using two cabs in the future, I'm thinking of getting either cab in the 8ohm version, to leave room for purchasing another in the future if needs be. Would this be a good idea?

I have had several cabs in the past but none have compared to the Schroeder. I currently have the 1212L and have a 410 on order. These cabs are light weight, built like a tank and can be very loud. Customer service is the best.
