Cab doesn't work. What could be wrong?

So, i have narrowed down the problem to my cab. It just cuts in and out during a set. It works at the first just fine and then shuts off (no sound comes out). It will come back in every now and then. I checked the wiring from the circuit board to the speakers. It is all correct. There is a light bulb on the circuit board i assume that worked as a fuse that was burned out so i replaced it. The same problem occurred. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Dub

So you're seeing the same thing happen with a different head, correct?

Does it happen only when you're playing at volume?

If yes to both the above, then check for the presence of a speaker circuit breaker somewhere in the cab, possibly on the crossover board. It may or may not have an amp rating stamped on it. Can you take a close-up (and clear, not cell phone) pic of the board, showing the components?

Another possibility is that the cab's speakers are wired in series and one of the voice coils is opening up under load.

1. is it a Mesa Boogie? I had a boogie go in and out mysteriously for years; i finally got wise and sold it.
2. I had this happen to me and all I did to fix it permanently is pull the speaker off and ensure the wires connected to the speaker were connected properly. they had come loose, and the speaker behaved erratically because it had an erratic connection.
