Cab for GK 700RB II

We spoke about 112 cabs for NEO before. Here is the response from GK guys over mail.

I own a 700RB/112 combo. It's a Mk1 amp with a ceramic 12" and an APT80 tweeter. The amp is rated 225W with the internal speaker and 380W when an 8 ohm extension cab is added. The combo by itself would carry a cover band. No one complained that I wasn't loud enough, but I found the lack of headroom frustrating. There is a point where turning up the amp makes the sound more more compressed without sounding louder. At this power level the 12" jumps around like crazy. It's fun to watch but also a bit scary. I did not feel comfortable pushing the cab that hard.

I had some old cabs loaded with EVM18Bs. I started using one with the 700RB/112 and it always felt like I had plenty of headroom, although I would not say the tone was great. Never got around to trying the amp with a NEO cab.

Some good insight here as I am too interested in GK's Neo 12 offerings. I use an 800RB with my current GK Neo 410 (silver grill) and it's great. I have always been a 10's guy but lately I have been thinking of branching into the 12's and the 112 (x2) setup seems to be the overall best setup it seems based off opinion. I have always respected the module setup of one when you just need a little and then an additional when you need more. I'm currently going back and forth of selling the 410 and starting with a Neo 112 and then getting another at some point. The GK Neo's look a little longer so how does stacking vertical work out? I am talking about the silver v1 cabs. But then again, the newer Neo 210 cabs look intriguing too. I am basically trying to find the happy medium with cabs of light weight and size but gets the job done when I need it to without PA/FOH support. Sticking with GK of course, I have really become a fanboy of theirs.

This is my new setup! I will keep one cab at home and the other at rehearsal and just travel with my amp :bassist:
CX210 and CX115 run by MBF500. This rig sounds just fantastic! I am in deep deep love with GK.
