Double Bass Cab grabber

I want to start experimenting with mics for live shows and have been looking into different mounting systems.

Has anyone tried a cab grabber? It reminds me of a smaller cheaper h-clamp. It's about half the price of an h clamp but lacks some flexibility.

I took a look at one, I wouldn't use it to mount a mic on the bass. It's not designed for that. You could potentially crack the sides of the back or top.

Even with the Explore Audio H Clamp, that has padded mounts, I managed to split of a small piece of the edge of the laminate back on my good bass. Looks like it would

work fine for it's intended purpose of hanging a microphone off a speaker cabinet. Just my take of course.
