Cab orienation question

I notice in the fEARful threads that cabs are made reversed so that the mids and highs are next to each other. Does this principal apply to other cabs with multiple drivers?

Say I have a 2 112 with a horn I am better off stacking them with the same orientation or with the top one upsidedown?

In the last picture rotate the top cab clockwise 90 degrees to get the mids next to each other. The closer the drivers are together the more they act like a single speaker, better dispersion in your highs/mids.
