Cab repair question

Got a mystery cab handed to me.
Looks like the remains of a 1/15 combo, a Crate perhaps?
Anyway, after putting a speaker in it, the back was buzzing pretty bad.
turns out the bottom of the back and the base have separated from each other slightly.
(It's all pboard)

Any thoughts on how I could effect a repair?

Was thinking about gluing up the inside,
using a syringe (or a wedge to open it slightly) to get some in the crack from the outside,
putting a couple pipe clamps on it to hold it tight,
then hitting the outside with a brad nailer when dry.

Sounds like a good approach. Use carpenters glue. The brads are not necessary, the glue joint will be much stronger. People use brads just to hold the pieces in place while the glue dries.

Do you have a picture of the separated area?

Possibly putting a thick bead of glue (maybe construction glue) around all the joints inside the cab may help prevent future problems.

Couldn't get it to come out. I'll try tomorrow if it isn't raining, with a macro lens.

The outer surface is darkened & seems somewhat friable, and the rat fur pulled out in such a way to suggest water damage.
Not much expansion as usually happens with soaked particle board.

An update.
I removed all the hardware, and the rat fur.
Approx 1/4 of the back/bottom have separated slightly.
Some water damage to the p-board on the back.
I removed the loose stuff (not deep), and sanded the rest.

Wondering what to put on the particle board to stabilize it before painting.
Urethane? An acrylic sealer? some kind of epoxy?

50/50 mix of wood glue and water. "Paint" it on, let soak in and cure.

I would glue and screw a 2x2 in the inside corner where it's separated.

Ready to take the clamps off of the cab today.
I had pried the edge open a little further, put the glue inside the resulting crack,
and pipe-clamped the carp out of it.

Next step, stabilizing the particle board.
Then working on the inside of the cab.
Probably use a brace-board along the weakened area,
and a good bead of construction adhesive around the rest.

The insulation was pretty deteriorated, had to scrap it.
I have a few things around that may (or may not) be applicable for replacement.
Any cab builders with insul ideas?
(trying to keep the costs negligible)

Toying with the idea of adding a HF driver in the box.
Anybody know a formula or calc to set the XO components?
