I am looking at getting a 4x10 cab and a 15" speaker to replace my old one that I blew out with this amp (since I was using it as a standalone) and am wondering what wattage and ohmage I should be looking for in my cabs. I am looking at getting an eminence kappa pro 15a and potentially an Eden ex410sc4 cab. I'd like to keep the budget low, $500 would be nice and $700 would be pushing it. I know I'm not going to get godly gear but I'd like to be able to play without fear of blowing anything up.
I still have the whole orange 15" cab, so I'd just replace the speaker in that. I forget what the dimensions are, but it has vents on the side of the speaker and is wider than it is tall.
I play a hand built fretless 5 string bass, with a low B, so I'd like to be able to achieve a good sound at those low frequencies.
Also, one last question (regardless of the actual product itself) to run with 2 cabs with a 1000w class D amp, I could have them rated for 500w at 8ohms and set the amp to 4 ohms and be golden, correct?
Thanks for your help, its much appreciated.
