Cable rumbling out of 4X10 input

That Eden Nemesis NSP410 cab has both 1/4" jacks on the right, and Speakon connectors on the left of the jackplate. As agedhorse pointed out the 1/4" on top is broken - use the one below it if you want to use a 1/4" plug. It would be better to run a standard Speakon cable to it instead, because it locks in place. That Eden jack is expecting a Speakon wired with positive to +1 and negative to -1 (obviously). It's an easy fix and should be a great combination to run together.

Use the speakon to 1/4, you won't regret it. But I agree, make sure its genuine speakon. I usually buy a 12 guage cable and Neutrik Speakon connectors from usbargainsound on ebay on the cheap, then I put them together myself. Costs me like 15 bucks instead of 50.

There is absolutely NO advantage on going Speakon to 1/4" as long as your cab has a speakon jack. The OP's cab has two speakon jacks and he can input a speakon to speakon cable to either one.


***Edit: yes there is a reason to use Speakon on one side and 1/4" on the other. Reason is the GK Goldline 500 only has 1/4" speaker outputs...oooops!

And Yes, Maynjo is spot on that it is easy to make one for a fraction of what it costs to buy one. Just get two speakon connectors instead of a Speakon and a 1/4" plug.

That black jack doesn't look good.

I would get a ¼" to speakon speaker cable rather than rely on the cabinet jack.

Just plug your speakon cable into one of the two Speakon jacks on the back of that cab. Don't even mess around with 1/4" plugs - there's no need to.

***My mistake. The GK Goldline 500 only has 1/4" speaker outs, so you can't use Speakon connectors on both ends...sorry 'bout that.

Oh, yeah, I always go speakon to speakon, I was under the impression that OP's head didn't have a speakon output.

Edit: Yeah I looked up the Goldline 500 head, It does not appear to have a speakon output.

You are spot-on Maynjo. It's my mistake. I just looked up the Goldline 500 head too and it does NOT have a Speakon out connection, onlly 1/4" connectors. My apologies.

Since you are now only going to use the Speakon connector because we told you to, get a pair of foam earplugs and roll them up and put one in each of the phone plug jacks to prevent air coming out/whistling.
Those jacks are not sealed.
