Hi to all to begin with

I need a bit of help , been playing about 20yrs but
have never took a lot of notice with my speakers, as i bought
the rig together, its a trace elliot 300 watt head, with 2
15" cabs both at 8ohms total load 4ohms,


now the heads ok but the cabs got trashed in a
transport crash
On the back of the amp it states total 4 ohms
Ive been using a single cab beringer ba4x10 what is 4ohms
Ive also got a gallien/k single 15, what is 8ohms
to save a bit of cash and now only playing for fun Can I use
these together
Any adivce would be much help to me.

No, because the total combined load will be below the 4 ohm recommended limit of your amp. You risk damaging your amp. You could use 2- 8 ohm cabs though as this will give you a 4 ohm load when connected in parallel, which is the usual case.

actually yes, but you would need a special box or an additional series wired jack in one cabinet. the down side to this is that you would be running at 12 ohms, and would have significantly low output.

one option would be to rewire your 4x10 to 16 ohms, but with your 8 ohm 15", you will have a total parallel impedance of 5.3 ohms, still not optimal output, but much better than 12 ohms. also note that your 15" will receive twice the power than your 4x10 (which is not necessarily a bad thing).

Simple impedance calcs do not determine whether something will actually work well, merely that it might work at all. Where are the sensitivities of the cabs/drivers taken into account?
