I have Sonar Platinum, and love it. I also downloaded and am trying Cakewalk by Bandlab. (CWBL) There are a couple of things to note. If you own SPLAT, or Professional, the plugins, and VSTi's will transfer over. If you don't have a previous version of Sonar, and are installing CWBL, you won't get any of those 3rd party plugins that came with Sonar. My brother, who is a Sonar X3 user, also said some of his plugins wouldn't work in the CWBL version. Here's the real rub with me about CWBL. When they introduced it, they said you'd still be able to use your previous version(s) of Sonar Platinum/Professional. This is true, you can still record with those, however, they made the save protocols identical, so if you are using Platinum/Professional, and I believe older versions like X3, they will save as a CWBL project, not Sonar. If you don't have a DAW, and want one. This is probably the best one out there, as it is Sonar Platinum, just under a different name, minus some 3rd party stuff. So you are getting a fully functional DAW free of charge.
