Caleb Scofield/Cave In tone help

Hi all!

I’ve been trying for a while now to find some kind of EQ sweet spot where my bass lines can be clearly discerned and perhaps sound sort of “in parallel” to the guitars more than just sit in the mix.

An example of this is Caleb Scofield’s tone in this record (and others, I know):

What I think I hear is some kind of middle position pickup bass (seems like he’s using a grabber but a P bass could come close) with perhaps low mids turned up and of course some dirt. Anyway it sounds powerful on its own but it’s not overbearing either.

Could someone give me a couple pointers on what frequencies to boost/cut to carve a similar sound?
