here's a soundclip of the bass, first with the bright switch off, then with it on. slight difference there, eh?
Nice find. Really dig the bright setting.

Lafayette Electronics! I remember drooling over stuff in those catalogs, especially the electric guitars, I don't remember ever seeing instruments at Radio Shack, though. That is a cool find, Jimmy. It makes me all nostalgic and crap like that.(Envious, too.)

why thank you, handyman! thank you for that unsolicited testimonial.Whoa, that's one serious bass cut there. I love the sound of the normal non-bright setting there. Is that with a set of Chromes on it?
And is that a 32" scale?

OTOH I had a Maestro brand guitar that was bought for me at Lafayette Radio Electronics around 1969. It was the same as a line of Univox basses and guitars of the era while the instruments with the Lafayette nameplate at that time were identical to the Tesico instruments?
sheesh! what good is buying a new bass if you can't post about it on tb and make people gush over your soundclips?
You all at work.you all suck. what's a guy have to do to get some love for a vintage radio shack bass around here???
lol! i used to love making stuff from the tandy store. my mom had all the tools and dyes...she was really good at it but i sucked. You all at work.
Tandy bass. You need a tooled leather strap for that.
I can still smell the Tandy store, if I close my eyes.
wow, i was so excited to get that bass working, and i painstakingly and lovingly slapped together a quick demo for you guys, and all i got was one comment?...
