most violin basses i've played are pretty heavy on the low end and not much on the highs. this one seems like it's the opposite. well, it does seem to have plenty of low end, but it's very bright.How so?

you can eq it to sound like what you want, but in its natural state through a flat response amp, it's this big throbbing mass of low mids from 100-200 hz that makes darn sure you're not out of the mix ever. people think of them as this prissy little sound when in fact they're the most brutal basses i've ever played. you don't cut through the mix with it...you kick it in the sackinteresting- I have zero experience with that style of bass so I'm curious about their typical sound.

had to bag the tapewounds. they were too thick for the hardware. they would bind in the nut slots and they wouldn't fit inside the hole in the tuners. got a used set of d'addario half rounds on it for now.tapewounds? Win.
