Calling all prog fans!!

Well, I think we'd all agree that there's a big difference between being opinionated and being a dick about it, right?

It occurs to me that I ought to post here, in the "calling all prog fans" thread, some links I posted earlier in a different thread. As you might or might not know, Julie Slick (who I trust prog fans are familiar with) and Italian bassist/composer Marco Machera recently did a mini-tour in support of their album "Fourth Dementia" -- with Pat Mastelotto on drums (!) and the awesome Tim Motzer on guitar. My buddy and I got good audio and video recordings of the Philadelphia show, and passed them along to the band. Marco has since been working on syncing the (higher quality) audio recordings to the video recordings, and has started posting parts of the show one at a time. So far he's posted three of the tunes: the set opener "Green" (from 4th Dementia) and the two King Crimson tunes they covered -- "Dinosaur" and "Indiscipline" -- with Marco on vocals (the latter in Italian!). Here are the links to these, but keep your eyes open for more later:

Hello out there in Pro-ghh land, I just got the new deluxe blu-ray documentary Kansas "Miracles Out Of Nowhere", Kansas fans, Dave Hope fans you might want to get this one.
LOL....Sorry, your post reminded me of the 'Downfall - The Fripp Problem' video. AH says: "Anyone who thinks Kansas is prog, leave the room." And everyone leaves except 3 guys. I love that vid.
Thx for the tip on the DVD. I just scored 4 Transatlantic DVDs to replace my crappy Utube downloads. Wow, Blu-ray and prog ROCK!

I do think Pete Trewavas is in the same category. If you listen to his playing with TransAtlantic, one begins to wonder if the people in Marillion are keeping him subdued.
Thanks for the tip. I O U 1! They are my new favorite band. It's hard to keep up with him on bass, but I'm trying. I just received:

Now, to practice! :D

My pleasure! I think you'll like them :)
I already do! I downloaded horrible sounding mp3s and vids off the interwebs months ago, but now I got 'em with quality sound/picture! Also, it hopefully supports the band, too. Just ordered Whirlwind on CD and More is Never Enough (5 disc) CD/DVD. Pete even inspired me to get an Ibanez SR 1000, so with his pedals (RP 1000), Minitaur, doubleneck, Rick and the Ibby, I'm set! LOL!
PS: My wife thanks you too!

Cheers,
Neal.

Yeah, old thread, but I've been listening to Colosseum II for some reason, something reminded me of them. John Mole, a fine bass player, I believe he is not with us anymore. Nice live version of this song, nice fretless melodic playing, and, man...Gary Moore just KILLS me, he was such an intense guitar player, the most screaming multi string bends of anyone (the studio version of this especially)...
