From the binding it looks like a real Ric, but itd be worth knowing before investing in any replacement parts. If you decide to swap out the bridge the current one would probably sell well here. Not well as in covering the cost of an original 4001 bridge, but better than a Badass.

Thats actually the best looking replacement bridge I have seen for a rick. Its low mass and has saddle grooves for no side wobble, but follows the same pattern/shape of a real rick bridge, I like it.

I agree, leave the bridge, but I'd get some Rick pups. Higain bridge, and Toaster neck pup would be my choice. Nice looking bass, congrats.

It's significantly better than the majority of the bridges found on copies.
I wonder why there aren't more of these around.

I tried finding them, seems the Starz company no longer makes these, which is a shame. You have to be a pretty hard core Ric fan boy to think the Ric bridge is an improvement over any other mass produced bridge.

I think that neck pickup is a Schaller Bassbucker, like these;

Schaller made a Dimarzio style Jazz pickup that looked a lot like the bridge pickup too.

The neck pup is a DiMarzio model G which was from the 80's and the other is model j..you can sell those and get regular Rick pups and a new pickguard to give it the right sound...

It appears there has also been some additional routing work as well as a different pickguard.

okay, aside from the mods. it is real. looks like it was black originally if I am looking at that color around the truss rods..and those are both Dimarzios as I thought...4 wire and correct colors

I'm going to leave it as if for now and just get it setup wiht some new strings. I also need to get a case for it. Any leads on used/cheap cases?

Neck pickup is a Dimarzo Model G, these have big balls and read about 14k on the meter. That mod will make it the loudest Ric ever!
