Calluses formed aside the nail, is that ok?

My left hand fingers are not straight on the fretboard, indeed the calluses on the index and on the pinky are not in the “centre” of the fingertips, but I have them on the side of the fingertip, next to the nail. I tried to put my fingers perfectly straight on the fretboard but it’s a lot of efford. Is it so wrong if I can’t press the frets with the very point of my fingers, and shall I correct this? Or it is irrelevant?

It's not irrelevant if playing super fast and clean is in your future, but if you're doing everything you want to be able to do and you're not in any pain, it's cool.
