Camera advice please.....

There is a book out there called "The Best Camera is the One You Have With You" by Chase Jarvis. It's basically him taking pictures with only his iPhone. Pretty cool stuff...

Pick up a copy of Understanding Exposure by Scott Peterson. It's a great book that explains quite a bit about aperture, shutter speeds, ISO, film, depth of field, and a bunch of other stuff. It's a very easy read too.

Interesting read... but I agree, with thousands of dollars of camera gear, I still shoot the most with my iPhone because its always in my pocket.

Weeeeeeeell nobody came down with any huge Cyber Monday deals on either of the two I am scoping out. I'm just gonna sit back and wait to see if anyone gets desperate to sell some stuff the closer we get to the big day. If not, maybe they will be motivated shortly afterwards. I'm in no big rush.

(And, yes, I would deal with my local mom n pop store if the guy were even in the ballpark on price. Not only are his prices about 30% out of whack........ as in $300+ more than I can get the same camera elsewhere...... but his attitude sucks. I gathered that unless you are rich, or a professional photographer, he has no interest in your business.)

The only salesperson is the owner. If he isn't there the place is closed. Hey, I'm a capitalist. If he is making enough money to support his wants and needs, more power to him. I'm just not going to deal with him myself.

I just have to say that I come to TB expecting to leave with a bad case of GAS. I don't expect it to be photo GAS, but now I'm really GASing for the newest m43 bodies that are tiny and the image quality looks great too. I was perfectly happy with my D90 until this thread. Ha! Sorry for that. Watch a few YouTube videos on the OM-D and you will really be in trouble. 9 fps! I held one two days ago. That thing is tiny but man is it cool!

That and the Panasonic GM1 have me trying to figure out if I can sell my Nikon stuff and get a new system before leaving for a trip in 3 weeks. My logical side says it's not worth it, but GAS is GAS.

How is the viewfinder on that? Not a fan of electronic viewfinders before but otherwise I like the look of the OM-D.
