Camping + acoustic bass=?

Really? You must have a very nice acoustic, I've never been able to hold my own with guitar accompanyment, using the same, (I assume) Ibanez acoustic bass.

Actually, my acoustic is a Johnson fretless (I don't have a picture, but it's like [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]). For a cheapo instrument, it's quite nice. I can hold my own in my folk band unamplified. And it has two guitarists.

Maybe I just play really loud? I'd like a resonator one Link Removed because I think it'd probably be louder and so I could play a bit more dynamically.

No what you want is a harmonica they should only be used at campsites.

My harmonica playing is best left in the woods. Away from people. Portable instruments in the bass realm are tough, best to pick up a second instrument for this. I just dig the uke, the plunky tones always make me grin.

I bring my E harmonica with me everywhere I go. I was never shown how to use it, but it all works out when someone starts playing

A definate yes for camping bass. Of course it can be a bit boring by itself if you're responsible for entertainment by yourself, but that's why you also bring some bongos, harmonicas, ukuleles, beer, girls and if everything else fails, a guitarplayer.

That said, an acoustic fretless combined with a beautiful sunrise at a lake/ seashore is about as good as it gets in my opinion. Nature is the best inspiration.
