can a cab effect harmonics?

My Ampeg SVT210AV came in today and I decided to plug it in to make sure it worked, being as I bought it used. All I can say is holy crap, the harmonics jump out of this thing. I used the same amp head with the same settings as I had been using with my 115 cabinet, but all of a sudden they just jumped out of the speakers. I could even hear them clearly when I would fret a note, as it decayed the ringing was just there.

Are my ears playing tricks on me, or can a cab really effect harmonics this drastically?

It's affect, and the answer is yes. Different cabs/drivers have different responses, so they sound different. That's why there hundreds of cab choices, and for that matter hundreds of different twelve inch guitar drivers.

Im sure people will call me stupid, and tell me that speaker size has nothing to do with nothing, but I feel smaller drivers have more upper mid presence and highs compared to larger drivers. I can get harmonics out of normal 15's but with 10's or 6's they're just more "open" and present, jumping out of the cab as u would say..
