Can anybody share or explain the tone he's using on this particular song, I'm understanding that he's using an MTD. Not sure if it's in the settings or could it possibly be in the strings as well. Such as piccolo strings?

To me it sounds like it's more in his playing than anything. MTD sounding MTD like but he's got a very solid punchy plucking tone. There's nothing that jumps out at me in terms of gear but definitely low fast setup and sound round wounds. Most likely steel. He's digging in as well so it's going to add some nice biting tone. I'm hearing what sounds like a Markbass amp and those are great for what he's trying to do up there. Between them and GK I think they both suit Tobias/ MTD basses very well.

Agree with this, typical MTD modern, active, humbucker tone paired with a fairly aggressive plucking technique. Probably a light-ish gauge of strings.

This is really messing with my mind. I can't tell if the bass he is playing is a shorter scale length, or if the guy is just super tall. It is either octave up, or piccolo strings, but I'm leaning more towards octave up. But if that is an octave up effect, then the tracking is reaaaally good. The attack of each note sounds natural in my opinion, which would mean it's piccolo strings. But it could very well be just a really good octave up effect.
