Greetings. First post for a longtime lurker. I'm usually able to work the search button to answer any and all questions, but hours of wading through the string silk posts hasn't solved this one.
I'm not sure which bass these came on, but they were no doubt immediately switched out for chromes or Rotosounds and relegated to the back of my used string drawer where they resided for maybe a decade or longer till I recently put them on my old MIM jazz bass. They've really brought that thing to life, and even with its stock pickups I'm grabbing that bass far more often than my Rick or much nicer Precision. They've given it a sweet Joe Osborn tone but seem a little punchier than the LaBellas I had on this bass years ago
These strings have yellow silks but don't seem to be DR Legends. That's what I thought at first, but you'll notice from the comparisons below that the silks of the mystery string (above in the bridge and second pic, to the left on the tuner pic) are more bronze or brownish yellow than yellow of the Legends they're next to, and that the strings themselves are smoother, as seen on the second pic.
I've read that Maximas also had yellow silk, but from the pics I've found of those they have darker ball ends. These are brass, same as the Legends. The silk also seems too dark to be Dean Markley flats, the other usual yellow flat culprit, though I've never had hands on experience with those.
Just thought I'd throw it out to the hive mind. Thanks for any insights.
